— SjG @ 6:03 pm

The water, gas, and sewer line got hooked up today. City inspections should happen sometime this week.

Belated Update

— SjG @ 1:06 pm

Much of last week had people working on the building until it got dark, so I was unable to get any pictures.

Over the weekend, I was able to go in and see the progress on the plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.

Situation the same

— SjG @ 5:52 pm

A lot of excavation in the front, getting ready to hook up gas and water. The plumber is working late, so I have no pictures from inside the structure again.

There could be rain tonight, so we’ll see what tomorrow brings.

And Even More…

— SjG @ 6:08 pm

There’s a lot of plumbing and electrical work going on, but the plumber is working late, and by the time I could get in there to take pictures, it’s too dark. Maybe I’ll get pictures tomorrow.

Extensive digging continues. Water hookup is scheduled for Friday. Sewer might be tomorrow, might be Friday. Gas should be around the same time.

So here are more pictures of the digging. There’s also one picture of the front yard from about a year ago that I snuck in just to see if anyone notices.

And more…

— SjG @ 6:25 pm

Work was going on with the electricals and plumbing, but I wasn’t able to get many pictures. The reason is that the pipe going out to the city sewers is causing some issues. The originally planned spot to tie-in to the existing sewer line was not deep enough, so the slope wouldn’t be correct.

Meanwhile, lots of big holes were dug in the front garden, and many rose bushes dug up. Sprinkler lines are going to need to be repaired, and the coax/power for two of the security cameras will need to be replaced. There’s a lot of damage up front, both from the necessary digging and the access to those places.

In the late afternoon, we learned the gas and water lines would have to cut directly across the entire front. The trenches will be dug tomorrow. That gave us very little time to dig up and try to rescue the roses in that area. So what would have been photography time became frantic digging and pruning time.

In retrospect, it should have been obvious some connection would need to be cut through those areas. I had for some reason believed that they’ve be ganged off the connections to the main house, and it could have been done in the back.
